A French musicology student who would like to research Czech music would soon be confronted to several problems, starting with the scarcity of studies in their mother tongue. This is certainly a symptom of a complicated history of the reception of Czech music in France, marked by a fair amount of prejudices, contempt but also, sometimes, clumsy defence. Through the presentation of some French authors and their works, let us try to unravel this tiny, but significant, fragment of French music history.
